UNORGANISED WORKERS CONFERENCE 07-02-08
THE UNORGANISSED WORKERS OF THE WORKING AREA WERE ORGANISED LAST YEAR FOR THE MINIMUM WAGES AND OTHER ISSUES.AFTER ONE YEAR THEY ORGANISE THE CONFERENCE AND START DEMAND FOR MORE HIGHER WAGES AND BETTER WORKING CONDITIONS ON 7TH FEB 2008.

The unorganised workers of the area are called 'Kadia majdoor' in local dilect i.e. Vagary.They are badly exploited by contractors and the owners.The working conditions of them is so bad.The wages of women workers( called Cooli) are lower than the male worker (Beldaar ).The conference demanded for the equal wages.Surprissingly the male workers also supported the demand.

Conference was started in the morning at govt. sr. sec. school ground in morning.The delegates listen to the fraternal delegates from different sections of the people.The conference was addressed by representatives of teachers Union,Peasant organisation,Jagruk yuwa sangathan and the invitees of different villages.

Dligates of Janwadi Majdoor Union(Democratic Workers Union) delegates started discussion on internal organisational issues and the
general situation of the workers after the inaugural session.The income -expenditure was announced and new leading team was elected.This team will organise struggle for the higher wages in coming months.

The procession was organised.The women workers were in front and the workers were following them and shouting slogans.The folk instruments were used during pro-workers slogans.The March passed through the town and the corner meetings were adressed by the leaders of the Janwadi Majdoor Union.They announced the new wages for the Workers.They also apeal to the all workers of the area to organise.

The conference was started with the progressive and democratic songs.The children also participated in cultural programme.The conference was concluded with folk dance and dinner in the end.Every delegate was delighted by the great success of the first conference of the workers in the area.All are hopeful for the wider unity and success.
