Maal Village people's March and struggle 24-25 Sept 2007

Maal is a small village of Jalapaka panchayat of Kherwara tehil(block). The population is 600. They have two room's primery school (78 students and two teachers) which was constructed by Shramdaan of villagers. This village is still not connected with the road so the people were demanding their road( of 2.5 kms) from last three years but no one was responding. They were guided by JYS to organise themselves without the involvement of political parties and NGOs.

Meanwhile a 7.9 km road (216 lacs Rs.) to maal village was sanctioned under Pradhanmantri sadak yojana by Ministry of rural development(GOI).The contractor start the work of the this road.Maal people are arguing that this road is westage of money and it will not connect to Maal even after full lenth construction because maal will remain 1.5 km far from connectivity.Hence they submitted the memorandum and demand charter to the govt. officials and politicians but ..........

At last they marched towards Block head quarter from Maal. They walk on foot upto 18 kms and gheraoed the block office and organise sit in programme. At last the demand of people were appriciated by all sections of people. The MLA of Kherwara and PWD officials reached and assured for the 2.5 km road. But they are not willing to stop the work of 7.9 km road.

People are saying that they will not allow any kind of work without starting of their road.Second part of agitation is contineous.
